Seniors Week program now available

Seniors Week will be held March 20 - 27 and Blacktown City Council has produced a program which showcases the diverse and entertaining activities for Seniors in Blacktown City during Seniors Week.

Seniors Week is the perfect opportunity for seniors to come together and build new friendships, support each other, learn about healthy lifestyles, becoming more active and share new experiences.

This year there are over 30 events to choose from in Blacktown City and I encourage everyone to go out and 'Live Life' not only during Seniors Week but every week!

To get your copy of the program, visit Council's Information Centre at 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown or by calling Council's Age Planner on 9839 6000. All Senior Week events are listed on Council's website www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au.

Blacktown City Show starts this Friday!

I encourage all residents to come along to the 88th Blacktown City Show this weekend March 11 - 13 at Blacktown Showground.

As always, Council is proud to support the Blacktown City Show Society Inc and the 2011 Blacktown City Show.

The show is famous for bringing together rural and urban lifestyles, with a variety of displays, sideshows, on-stage performances, wood chopping, sheep shearing and all of the customary favourites including rides and showbags.

The Blacktown City Show is the longest running event in Blacktown's history. Council is pleased to present the spectacular fireworks display on both Friday and Saturday nights of the show.

The Show is coordinated by Blacktown City Show Society Inc, for details call 9621 4626.
