Temporary closure of Mount Druitt Library and Senior Citizens Centre

I would like to remind residents that the Mount Druitt Branch Library and Mount Druitt Senior Citizens Centre have temporarily closed until Saturday, 29 October inclusive while they move into their permanent premises, the newly-refurbished Mount Druitt Hub.

On Monday, 31 October the library and senior citizens centre will re-open at The Mount Druitt Hub, Ayres Grove, Mount Druitt.

During the close down period no books or other Library items will be due for return at Mount Druitt Branch however items can be returned to all other branches of Blacktown City Libraries (Blacktown, Stanhope Gardens, Lalor Park and Riverstone). Blacktown City's Pet Festival returns

The annual Pet Festival at Council's Animal Holding Facility (415 Flushcombe Road, Prospect) will return on Sunday, 30 October between 10am to 2pm.

The Pet Festival is a great community event and is the perfect pet friendly day. It raises awareness about responsible pet ownership and provides expert advice on living at home with a problem free pet. The day will feature a range of activities including:

  • FREE microchipping for Blacktown residents (max 2 per household)
  • FREE vet checks
  • Information stalls
  • Entertainment
  • Dog-training demonstrations
  • A petting farm
  • Face painting and children's activities
  • Animal education programs
  • Giveaway

There will also be the opportunity to adopt a pet on the day from the Animal Holding Facility and have it microchipped and registered.

Kings Langley Village Fair this Sunday

The Kings Langley Village Fair will be held this Sunday, 23 October at Pearce Reserve (Whitby Road, Kings Langley) from 9am to 3.30pm. The day will feature a range of activities including live entertainment, displays, and numerous craft stalls; it has something to offer for everyone. For more information call 9839 6000.
