Travelling Plant Giveaway and Pet Microchipping in Lalor Park

Council is offering free plants this Saturday 3 September to Blacktown City residents as part of the Ward Two Travelling Free Plant Giveaway.

The Travelling Ward Free Plant Giveaways give residents the opportunity to collect two free plants per property from a selection of native and exotic species at their respective Ward Giveaway.

Council will also be offering free microchipping for cats and dogs at each site for all Blacktown City residents.

This Saturday, 3 September the Plant Giveaway will be at Chifley Park cnr of Northcott Road and Freeman Street, Lalor Park for residents between 9.00am - 1.00pm. Proof of residency will be required.

Ward 3 - 5 Travelling Plant Giveaways will take place in the coming weeks. Ward 1 has already taken place.

Blacktown City Games return for 2011

Residents and visitors of Blacktown City can look forward to a range of sporting activities, as Council hosts the 6th City Games. The City Games run for an entire year and seek to bring people together, share cultures, build friendships and unlock talents that lay undiscovered.

Over the next 12 months, residents, athletes, teams and coaches will be witness to a kaleidoscope of sports and recreational activities as part of the City Games, which take place across the whole of Blacktown City. City Games events taking place in 2011 include soccer, model car racing, inline skating, basketball, water polo, little athletics, softball and cricket.

The City Games embody what this great city is about. We are a Sporting City that provides outstanding facilities not only for our local residents and sportspeople to use, but also for sportspeople and visitors both nationally and internationally that visit Blacktown City each year.

The first event of the City Games is soccer and will feature the Blacktown and Districts Soccer Football Association, where more than 2,000 participants playing 67 games at Francis Park, Richmond Road in Blacktown, between 2 - 4 September.
