Political Donations
Disclosing political donations and electoral expenditure
Under NSW legislation, Councillors are required to lodge a Declaration of Political Donations Received and Electoral Expenditure Incurred every 12 months. Anyone wishing to be appointed as an official agent for a candidate or group or as a party agent for a political party must be trained and registered with the Election Funding Authority (EFA).
Donation disclosure declaration forms for Groups, candidates, Councillors, Political Parties, and Political Donors are all available from the download menu of the EFA web site.
Disclosure by third-party campaigners is required in the same way as it is required by parties, elected members, groups, candidates and major political donors.
A disclosure by a party is now required to be accompanied by a copy of the duly audited annual financial statement of the party. Viewing political donations and electoral expenditure.
The electoral expenditure of all candidates including the 15 councillors elected to Blacktown City Council at the 2008 local government elections is also available on the EFA web site.
