Councillor Collins has returned to Council having previously served 16 years as a Blacktown City Councillor between 1991 and 2012.  She was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2008 for her work in the community, local government and charities.

Councillor Collins has held various positions within the Australian Labor Party and was recently elected to Labor NSW’s Health Policy Committee. She has been a Committee member of Cancer Council’s Blacktown Relay for Life organising committee and is a committee member of Mary Queen of the Family Parish Pastoral Council, Blacktown.

Councillor Collins represents State Members on the Blacktown City Local Traffic Committee and is third time Chair of the Blacktown City Community Safety Committee. Councillor Collins also chairs the Environmental Committee, The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Advisory Committee and the Combined Historical Societies Advisory Committee.

Councillor Collins is currently a consumer representative on Western Sydney Local Health District’s Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospitals’ Policy and Procedure Committee and Transition Planning Team and Westmead Hospital’s Patient Care Committee, as well as several diabetes’ committees.

Councillor Collins’ focus is improving the health and wellbeing of the Blacktown City community and eliminating domestic violence and homelessness.
