Elected to Council in September 2016, Cr Singh is Director of SydWest Multicultural Services Blacktown, Chair of the Punjabi Council of Australia, and former Secretary of the United Indians Association. He is also a member of Council’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee and the Sister City Committee.
As the Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee, Cr Singh has actively championed our City’s youth and established the very successful Youth Forum held in June 2017. He has also taken an active interest in Council’s sustainability and environmental programs.
In his business life, Cr Singh was responsible for revitalising the derelict Douglas Road Shopping Centre in Quakers Hill. He founded the Australian Academy of Management and Science, vocational training Institute offering tertiary courses to people in hospitality and services that for the elderly and people with disabilities. He continues as the CEO of the College which caters for more than 200 student trainees annually.
Cr Singh remains deeply committed to standing up for the rights of vulnerable people in our community and is a passionate supporter for social justice, never giving up until issues are resolved.
