Michael has lived in Blacktown his entire life. He discusses his family’s involvement in the Church of St Patrick, Blacktown, including his father’s role in organising local boxing tournaments in the 1950s to raise funds for the church. Michael discusses the local culture and entertainment in the 1950s and 1960s. He touches on his work for the Public Transport Commission during a period of change in Sydney’s transport system, and details his family’s long-term involvement with the Patrician Brothers' College. Michael spent time as a rugby league referee at the top level, and his son also enjoyed his own successes as a rugby league player. Michael ends the interview with a reflection on the development of the Blacktown region.
