2021 Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize
The 2021 Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize is open to adults and children, who live in Blacktown city.
Entries close midnight, Sunday 2 May 2021. Winners and highly commended writers will be announced 29 May 2021.
Entries can only be submitted online through www.westwords.com.au/living-stories
The winners’ entries will then be judged against the winners in other Western Sydney local government areas to find the best writer in Western Sydney. The winners for Western Sydney will be announced on 30 June.
Welcome to the 2021 Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize. It is open to adults and children (aged 10 to 17 years) who live in Blacktown city. Entries maybe in the form of short story, poetry or personal essay, no more than 500 words.
Categories
They will be judged in the following age categories, 10 - 12 years, 13 - 15 years, 16 - 18 years and adult (18+).

Judging
Your work will be judged on how original it is, how you have constructed your story or poem, the use of language, (including creative expression, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling) and the way you have developed characters, atmosphere, or setting or used words in a creative way.
It is critical that this work is original and not copied in any way. Copied work will be disqualified. An independent judging panel will assess all submissions.
