Blacktown Youth Advisory Committee

The Blacktown YAC are committed to supporting the active participation of young people within our community. You will be given  the opportunity to provide feedback and voice your opinion on current youth issues and Council decisions.

What does the Blacktown YAC do?

YAC members are involved in team building activities and community projects. The Blacktown YAC assists and organises several different activities and events for local young people and the community throughout the year.

Some of these you may have heard of:

  • Humans of Blacktown

  • Week of Youth

  • Blacktown Youth Forum

  • NSW Youth conference 2019.

Want to join?

We recruit every year. The full term is one year from July to June. You must be aged 12 -24, live, work or study in the Blacktown vicinity. We also hold a monthly committee meeting at Blacktown City Council that takes place between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Committee meetings are also accompanied with informal YAC meetings which occur on a weekly basis or as specified.

If you love having a say, want to learn more about local government and are committed to representing youth, this committee is for you!
