The applicant seeks approval for a concept DA submitted under clause 4.22 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 for the redevelopment of part of the existing shopping centre and at-grade car parking area to accommodate the expansion of the existing Ropes Crossing Village Centre and new residential flat buildings. The proposal is for the retention and expansion of the existing shopping centre comprising the addition of 711.6 m2 of supermarket floor space, 40.8 m2 of specialty retail floor space and 525 m2 of commercial floor space above the existing childcare centre. The proposal is also for building envelopes for 3 x 6 storey residential flat buildings comprising 128 residential apartments and private communal open space areas provided at the podium level and rooftops. 461 car parking spaces are to be provided at-grade and in the 2 basement levels. Site improvements include minor landscaping and public domain works.
The application also comprises a Stage 1 detailed DA for the construction and occupation of the 525 m2 commercial tenancy above the existing commercial space.
