Changes to parking at Stonecutters Drive
Published on 10 May 2018
Street parking will soon be change on Stonecutters Drive, Colebee to ensure smooth passage of buses.
Based on the feedback from over 500 local residents, an alternate proposal was developed which would allow standard sized vehicles to park along the kerbside, but restricts parking for large trucks and trailers.
Council adopted the alternate proposal which will be implemented for a 12 month trial period. Transport for NSW will advise when the service will begin.
We have undertaken community consultation through a community feedback survey delivered to all directly affected residents of Stonecutters Drive and an online survey on the ‘Have your say’ section on our website.
We received almost 500 responses from the community to the proposal. Based on the feedback provided by the local community, acknowledging that some residents would be impacted by “No Stopping” restrictions, an alternate proposal was developed. The new proposal would allow standard sized vehicles to park along the kerbside, but restricts parking for large trucks and trailers.
Council at its Ordinary meeting on 18 April 2018 adopted the alternate proposal which will reduce the impact of parking restrictions on local residents, whist allowing the bus services to operate in the area. The proposal will be implemented for a 12 month trial period. A review will be undertaken after 12 months to make any changes, if required.
