Nurragingy Reserve

This 63 hectare, tranquil location is located in Doonside and attracts more than 1 million people per year.

Operating hours:

Summer (December to February): 7 am to 7 pm

Autumn (March to May): 7 am to 6 pm

Winter (June to August): 7 am to 5 pm

Spring (September to November): 7 am to 6 pm.

Woodstock Avenue gate will be closed (3 pm Monday to Friday and locked 1 hour before closing time Sat, Sun and Public Holidays) – exit via Knox Road, main entry gate.

Casuarina

This large shelter provides protection and has a communal electric cooking station. A children’s playground is close by and walking trails will take you on a scenic venture through the reserve. A large grassed area provides for leisure activities.

Rosella

This shelter provides protection under a spacious roof. Cook up a storm on the covered communal electric cooking facility surrounded by native bush. The car park and toilet facilities are close by. The large open grassed area is ideal for ball games or just lazing around under the native trees.

Grevillea

This shelter is close to toilet facilities, playgrounds and has several communal wood barbeques nearby. This shelter is nestled back in a quieter area of the reserve and accommodates the smaller numbered parties.

Lomandra

This brick and timber constructed shelter is ideally situated adjacent to a large open grassed area for leisure activities such as ball games. A playground is located within metres of the shelter and it is equipped with a Liberty swing. This popular shelter area has communal wood barbeques nearby and walking trails that lead you into the bushland for a lesurly stroll.

Nestled amongst native bushland, this shelter provides car park, toilet facilities, playground and a covered communal electric cooking station all within very short walking distances. An ideal location to have a picnic and then a stroll through the bushland.

Wedding Gardens

There are 3 separate garden areas for weddings; Bungarribee Pavilion, Jannawi Garden and Jim Lynch Memorial Garden. The beautiful garden areas include:

  • Natural bushland settings ideal for photographic backdrops.

Bungarribee Pavilion

This Wedding Pavilion is set high in the international gardens. It commands sweeping views of the lakes, Chinese Gardens and waterfall. It provides great camera shots for your special day. Power and wedding vehicle access is available on request. 

Jannawi Garden

Located within close proximity to the Colebee Centre, this Wedding Garden has a sweeping view of the main lake in the international gardens. Only a short walk to the car park and amenities block, this semi enclosed beautiful gardens is a formal wedding area that provides an ideal spot for your next special occasion. 

Jim Lynch Memorial Garden

This secluded wedding garden with paved walkways and open pergola/trellis is surrounded by native tress which provide sanctuary from the heat on warmer days. It has a mysterious charm about it and is close to the main lake in the international gardens, car park and amenities. 

Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens

Located within Nurragingy Reserve, we constructed this exquisite garden with Liaocheng Municipal Government in China, as a symbolic gesture of friendship between our sister city relationship.
