Blacktown City Council’s aquatic and leisure centres are closed until further notice.

While restrictions on outdoor pools have been eased, all of Council’s outdoor pools are closed for the winter season.

The health and wellbeing of our community and staff are our number 1 priority.

To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and in accordance with latest government advice the following Key Venues are now closed until further notice:

Blacktown Aquatic Centre is Western Sydney's main competition pool hosting over 50 swimming meets each year. Kieran Perkins broke the 800 m Freestyle World Record at Blacktown Aquatic Centre in 1992.

Blacktown Aquatic Centre underwent a refurbishment to expand our services and provide a training facility for swimmers at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

The Centre prides itself on being more than just a competition pool however, offering health, fitness, fun and leisure opportunities for everyone. This includes 3 pools, gym, group fitness studio, creche, Aqua Learn to Swim, Kidz Blitz school holiday program and even a skate ramp!

So whether you are looking for a day out with the kids, the opportunity to relax or if you are ready to improve your fitness, we have the facilities and programs available for you.

Crèche

The crèche is a child minding facility run by Blacktown Aquatic Centre for customers utilising the facilities. So parents can use the pool, gym or do a group exercise class while we take care of the kids.

  • No pre booking required
  • cost is $6.40 for casual users or $3.20 for Blacktown Aquatic Centre members for a two hour period

  • children between 8 weeks and primary school age are accepted in the crèche

  • crèche dockets will be issued by reception staff

  • please allow time before class to sign-in and settle children into the crèche

  • parents will be called to the crèche if their child/children become distressed or unwell

Health and fitness

Group fitness classes are a fun and effective way to get your workout done. 

Blacktown Aquatic Centre offers a variety of classes that suit varied abilities from beginner through to experienced, with low-impact and high-impact class options. If you haven't tried group fitness before, simply let the instructor know so they can guide you through the class. You're bound to have a lot of fun and burn calories at the same time!

We have Les Mills classes on every Monday and Wednesday morning and a whole range of other classes designed to help you reach your fitness goals!

We also offer a fully equipped gym with state of the art equipment including treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, rowers and steppers for all your fitness needs. So whether you're looking for cardio, weights or group fitness, we've got you covered.

B. Concession entry includes:
1. Non-LGA resident pension concession cardholders - aged, disability, carers, invalid, widows, wife of aged, wife of disabled, DVA cardholders.
2. Pension concession cardholders - disability support payment, special benet payment, newstart, partner allowance, sickness allowance, partnered parenting payment, youth and special benets allowance.
3. NSW Government senior cardholders.

C. Commonwealth companion cardholders:
The cardholder presents their card to receive free entry for their companion. Normal entry fee applies for the cardholder.

D. Family passes may be for any 5 members of the 1 family but are NOT transferable. A family has been deemed as ‘2 adult parents and their 3 children aged between 5 and 15 years’ or ‘a single parent and their 4 children aged between 5 and 15 years’.

Kidz Blitz holiday program

Looking for Fun in the School Holidays? Try Kidz Blitz!

Kidz Blitz is the most exciting thing kids aged 6-12 can do all holidays! With scheduled itineraries full of engaging and exciting activities for your kids to enjoy every day the fun never ends at our Kidz Blitz school holiday program. Arts and crafts, pool games, sport, science, dancing are just some of the activities your kids will love!

Kidz Blitz birthday parties

Kidz Blitz birthday parties are cancelled until further notice.

Parties available includes:

  • Groovez: Grab your dancing shoes and get your groove on (5 - 12 years)

  • Splashez: Grab your swimmers and celebrate with a splash (6 - 12 years).

  • 1 hour and 55 minute supervised party

  • party area

  • all games and activities led by dedicated party host

  • special gift for birthday boy or girl

  • gift for each child

  • complimentary hot drink voucher for parents of party guest

  • hot chips

  • chicken nuggets

  • 2 additional hot food items selected from the following options - frankfurts, sausage rolls, party pies, mini pizzas, spring rolls (v), mini pastizzi (v) or mini samosa (v)

Boot Camp Classes (members only)

We are excited to announce that we will now be running one Boot Camp class each day from Monday to Friday for existing members.

Boot Camp classes will be run outside on the grassed area in front of the exercise studio and instructed by our qualified staff. There are only 9 spots available per class so don't miss out! 

Please note we will not be taking memberships off hold at this time. Our special members rate of $10 will apply to book a position in the class. 

Bookings for classes can only be made online.

To book your Boot Camp class please follow these simple instructions:

  • Enter log-in details
  • Select Book Online on the top menu bar
  •  Select Group Fitness
  • Select your preferred day by clicking on the date
  • Click on the class time available for that day (there is only one class per day)
  • Enter your credit card details and confirm and pay

You can now click here to book your Boot Camp class. 

There will be no Boot Camp on Monday 8 June as the centre will be closed for the Queens Birthday public holiday.

When you arrive at the centre for your class, please go over to the gate on the right hand side. The main entrance will be closed.

If severe or harsh weather occurs, please call 8869 9000 at least an hour before your class to see if it's still running.

For your safety:

  1. Wash and/or sanitise your hands before and after the class, and avoid touching your face
  2. No sharing of equipment
  3. Wipe down equipment before and after class
  4. Social distancing requirements apply
  5. Don’t share water bottles 
  6. Please bring your own mat and towel

 

Swim Club Memberships/Visit Passes

In accordance with an exemption to Public Health (COVID-19 restrictions on gathering and movement) Order (No.2) 2020 Council has agreed to allow winter swim squad training to recommence.

This re-activation applies to all resident winter swim squads who would have been using Council swimming pools at this time had COVID-19 restrictions not been in place. 

To purchase a membership or visit pass please follow these simple instructions:

  • Your login is your email address
  • The first time that you login you will need to use your email address and then click on 'forgot username/password'. You will then receive an email with a link to reset your password. Click on the link and follow the prompts to reset your password.
     (If you are not in our system, please call the centre on 02 8869 9000 between 8.30 am - 5.00 pm and we can set you up).
  • Once you are logged in – click “Buy Online”
  • Select either “Membership” or “Visit Pass”
  • Select the type you would like to purchase, click 'Buy' and follow the prompts to purchase and pay.
  • You will then receive an email confirmation.

There will be no training on Monday 8 June as the centre will be closed for the Queens Birthday public holiday.

Please note the following:

  • Swim squad training is restricted to Monday to Friday from 5.30 am to 7.30 am and from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm (except public holidays).
  • For the time being there is to be no weekend swim squad training.
  • A maximum of 1 swimmer per lane at any one time is allowed.
  • Social distancing rules must be strictly applied to all squad swimmers, coaches, accompanying parents and guardians and club officials.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ONLINE PURCHASES

  • Purchases made online are subject to all of the centre terms & conditions.
  • Payments cannot be refunded via the internet. Any request for cancellation or refund is to be in writing and is not guaranteed.
  • Proof of address, age or concession or other may be required when a specific membership type is purchased.
  • No refunds or cancellations can occur online for bookings linked to a payment.
