A new 20-hectare Ken Birdsey Park is coming to Schofields

Blacktown City Council and the NSW Government’s Accelerated Infrastructure Funding program will collectively deliver an exciting new 20-hectare park at Sciberras Avenue, Schofield.

This will include:

  • four sports fields for soccer and cricket
  • cricket nets
  • community amenities building for local clubs which includes toilets and a kiosk
  • children's playground with a range of equipment
  • public carpark with accessible spots
  • pathways for exercise
  • endangered woodland
  • stormwater treatment - bioretention and wetland
  • stormwater harvesting pond (for irrigation)
  • First Ponds Creek

Information regarding project at Reserve 882

Blacktown City Council was made aware on 31 March 2023 by Deloitte Financial Advisory Pty Ltd that: Lloyd Group Pty Ltd, the contractor engaged to deliver work for Reserve 882, has voluntarily entered into administration.

Blacktown City Council is committed to completing this project and is currently seeking an alternate contractor for the task.
