This year we have two events that we would love school groups to get involved in.

Skate on the Green is a synthetic ice-skating event which will run for the duration of Blacktown City Festival week from 19 - 27 May. There will be special group discounts available for the weekday sessions, especially for schools. Get in early and make a booking to avoid disappointment!

The Healing Feeling Gathering is a free event that provides a positive way for people of all backgrounds to come together and participate in a contemporary Aboriginal healing ceremony for National Sorry Day. This day gives all Australians the chance to come together and share the steps towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. As Aboriginal people we want to invite our non-Aboriginal family, friends and neighbours to the circle to bear witness to our culture and partake in our ceremony of healing. The event will include a traditional smoking ceremony, official welcome, storytelling, music and dance. All schools are encouraged to attend and must contact the organiser Jie Pittman on 0401 977 200.

Don't forget the Streets Alive and Parade Day on Saturday 26 May in the Blacktown CBD. If your school is interested in performing, having a stall or being in the street parade, please click on the link or contact the Events Team.

If you have any further enquiries please call our Events Team on 02 9839 6000.

If you have any further enquiries about the Healing Feeling Gathering please contact Jai Pittman on 0401 977 200.

We would love to see your school groups at these events.
