The 2018 Blacktown City Festival is going to be a real blast! From medieval times to the present day, Blacktown will be in party mode throughout May.
The week begins with a gala evening featuring the James Morrison Quintet, as well as local star Nicholas Gentile, who has just returned from a successful stint on Broadway.
Over the opening weekend, 80,000 people are expected to be drawn to Nurragingy Reserve for the 13th Blacktown City Medieval Fayre. Combat displays, roving entertainment, bird shows and an international jousting competition, with jousters from Australia and around the world all competing for this prestigious title are only part of what’s on offer.
There is also a range of mid-week activities such as Skate on the Green, the Sweet Indulgence Dessert Festival and the Lots of Laughs comedy night featuring ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ winner Fiona O’Loughlin, plus David Smiedt and Sean Woodland.
The week-long celebration concludes with the Streets Alive and Parade Day on 26 May that will bring colour, movement and vibrancy to Blacktown. With five performance stages featuring local dance groups and cultural performances and hundreds of arts and craft stalls, this day has something for everyone.
