Welcome to the Blacktown City Festival – one of Western Sydney’s leading artistic and entertainment events.

From humble beginnings, the festival has grown to span many days and venues and firmly establish itself as a community favourite.

After the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2025, it is clear to me that Blacktown City Festival is as strong as it has ever been.

Whether you enjoy seeing musicians play in our backyard, tasting food from across the world or watching cultural performances, there is something for all ages.

This year we have exciting new events as well as the yearly favourites to ensure there is plenty to appeal to festival veterans and newcomers.

It makes for four weeks of entertainment that I know will put plenty of smiles on faces.

Our opening event could not be more picturesque. Vibes by the Lake will provide top R’n’B and reggae musicians and their soulful sounds among the idyllic scenery of Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside, on Sunday 3 May.

I expect foodies and their phones to be out at the Sweet Indulgence Dessert Festival when it pops up at the Village Green, Blacktown. I am hungry already.

Swingin Sounds and its big band performances made a great debut at Blacktown Showground last year. I am tipping interest will be just as hot in 2026.

The biggest crowds will flock to the Blacktown City Medieval Fayre. Medieval jousting and other fun activities from the Middle Ages always amaze and entertain. Nurragingy Reserve will be bustling.

The Streets Alive and Parade Day is the finale and I love how it showcases our community. Performances, games and the march along the streets of Blacktown city centre make for a special day.

Blacktown City Council has done a fine job with this year’s program, providing plenty of opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy affordable entertainment close to home.

I look forward to seeing you at the festival.
