Committee membership

Blacktown City has 8 committees. Membership of a Committee is not restricted to Councillors.

Blacktown City has 17 advisory committees that have the power to make recommendations but not to make decisions. They consist of experts, professionals, government employees, community representatives, or council staff. The recommendations of advisory committees can help Blacktown City in making decisions on complex matters.

  • Community Services Committee: Crs Atkins, M Singh, Israel, Green and J Singh

  • Planning, Development, Historical and Assets Committee: Crs Griffiths, Amituanai, Benjamin, Camilleri and Kumar

  • Local Traffic Committee: Cr Fitzgerald as the Mayor’s nominee

  • Budget Estimates Committee: Mayor and all members of Council

  • Enterprise Agreement Committee: Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Cr Griffiths

Nominations close by Friday 24 January 2025 at 5.30pm and must be submitted to council@blacktown.nsw.gov.au.

Provides advice to the Arts and Cultural Development section and Blacktown Arts Centre regarding cultural planning, public art, cross council projects and its art collection.
