Mayor Bali and local residents have been campaigning for decades to have a passenger lift installed at the 137 year old station.
The current access superstructure dates back to the 1950s and tarting it up with some fresh paint does nothing to resolve the need for proper access for those who can’t get up and down the flights of stairs.
More than 2,000 people a day use the station, and the growth of nearby Bungarribee has added extra pressure to the station. We are encouraging you to continue fighting for lifts at both stations.
We started a petition to lobby for the Doonside Station lift. You can sign this petition at our Civic Centre and local libraries.
