Blacktown Nursery

The Nursery will close at 3 pm on Thursday 11 December 2025 and will reopen on Tuesday 13 January 2026 from 9 am to 2 pm.

Each financial year we offer residents free plants for planting on their property. It’s all part of our commitment to ‘green the City’.

By planting these plants on your property, you will be:

  • providing habitat for local wildlife

  • producing oxygen and decreasing carbon dioxide

  • cooling our hot suburbs

  • living more sustainably

You will need proof of residence in the Blacktown Local Government area (for example: rate notice, driver’s licence) showing the property address.

You can collect your annual allocation of plants from our nursery once each financial year at Kent Street, Blacktown (inside Blacktown Showground).

The nursery is open to the public from 9 am to 3 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

2026 operating hours

Our new operational hours in 2026 are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm.

Great news for residents: the Nursery now offers an additional 12 open days (up from 9), with extended Saturday hours from 9 am to 2 pm — giving you more time to collect your plants!

Please bring your proof of residency to be eligible for 2 plants per household per financial year.
