Privacy Statement

What is personal information?

Personal information is:

  • information or an opinion about an individual whose identity is clear

  • information or opinion about an individual whose identity can reasonably be determined from the information or opinion.

Collection and use of information

Council and its contractors will use your information for the purpose for which it was collected. Parental or guardian permission is required to provide personal information if you are 16 years or under. Council collects the following information from users of its website:

Computer information

  • your machine’s IP address, the browser type and operating system you use

  • the date and time spent on our website

  • pages visited

  • documents downloaded.

User feedback

  • we appreciate hearing your feedback to improve our services and your experience with council. All feedback is voluntary.

Service or subscription requests

  • personal information provided to process online service requests, complaints and subscriptions to email newsletters.


Council uses cookies to remember you so we can give you a better service online. A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by council’s websites. Cookies may be used to remember who you are, your preferences, and what is in your shopping basket. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. You can adjust your browsers settings to disable cookies or warn you when they are being used. Disabling cookies may prevent you from using certain functions of our websites.

Storage and security of personal information

Council will securely store all your personal information, except for Credit Card details which are destroyed, for no more than 2 years unless it is required to carry out the purpose of its collection. 


Your personal information will not be disclosed without your consent, in accordance with the Act, unless such disclosure is required by law.
