Community engagement strategy and Community participation plan 2024-28
We engage with local communities and key stakeholders to understand their needs and aspirations, and to ensure Council's programs, services and projects reflect these appropriately and effectively.
Community engagement is a critical part of our day-to-day businesses. It helps us achieve our organisational vision and mission, and organisational values of teamwork, customer focus, innovation and safety.
We engage with our community in many ways which include seeking formal responses to our plans on exhibition, participating in advisory committees to help us shape policies, designing new facilities or providing customer feedback about our services.
The Community engagement strategy and Community participation plan 2024-2028 outlines our engagement standards and principles to ensure engagement is inclusive and considered. It includes information about why, how and who we engage with, and provides some examples of when we might engage with you.
We use this strategy to guide the engagement plans which are carried out for important projects - such as the development of the Our Blacktown 2041 Community Strategic Plan.
Community participation plan for planning and development
Within the strategy document, the Community participation plan section includes information about how and when you can expect us to engage on particular planning and development related issues. The Community participation plan provides a single reference point on our community engagement for planning and development matters.
