The North West Growth Area covers about 10,000 ha of land across the Local Government Areas of Blacktown, The Hills and Hawkesbury. The North West Growth Area is divided into 16 precincts, 12 of which are within Blacktown City.
The Blacktown Local Strategic Planning Statement 2020 encourages growth and renewal within the established areas of the City in defined Urban Renewal Precincts.
