Child safe

We are a child safe organisation that supports and promote the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children.

We have a responsibility to create child safe environments for children and young people, in our facilities and venues, online and wherever children go within Blacktown City.

This includes at:

  • early education and care services

  • libraries

  • aquatic centres or recreation facilities

  • parks and playgrounds

  • events.

What is child abuse and neglect?

Child abuse and neglect can be classified in many different forms including physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, emotional abuse and psychological harm.

We are committed to being a child safe organisation and have adopted the Child safe standards

We are embedding the NSW Child safe standards into our leadership, governance and organisational culture. We deliver this by:

  • our internal management Child Safe policy

  • recruitment and employment process

  • code of conduct

  • risk management

  • training on child safety

  • how we engage with children and young people

  • supporting our employees to identify child safety concerns and report them

  • embedding child safety into our values and behaviours.
