Noise Restrictions

Noise can affect different people in different ways. What's acceptable to one person may be offensive to another.

The operation of noise emitting devices, instruments and equipment is restricted when the noise produced is audible inside an adjoining residence. The hours in which restrictions can be placed on the use of these items are outlined below.

Even outside of these hours restrictions can be placed on the use of these items, if they are creating noise which impacts on the comfort of others.

More information is available in brochures(PDF, 367KB) which are published by the NSW Environment Protection Authority.
