Elected to Council in September 2016, Councillor Singh is former Director of SydWest Multicultural Services Blacktown, former Secretary of the United Indians Association and current Chair of the Punjabi Council of Australia.
Councillor Singh chairs Blacktown City’s Access Advisory Committee and takes an active interest in Council’s sustainability and environmental programs. In his previous term, Councillor Singh was the Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee and championed our City’s youth. He established the Youth Forum held in June 2017 and hosted the NSW Youth Forum in 2019, both highly successful events.
In his business life, Councillor Singh was responsible for revitalising the derelict Douglas Road Shopping Centre in Quakers Hill. Currently, he is managing Brightside Disability & Ageing Services, an agency devoted to the service of people with a disability.
A passionate supporter for social justice, he remains deeply committed to standing up for the rights of vulnerable people in our community, never giving up until issues are resolved.
