Tertiary Scholarship Program

Applications for the 2026 program is now open and will close Friday 1 May 2026. 

PLEASE NOTE: you must submit all results for the 2025 study period.

We will award 15 Tertiary Scholarships in 2026. Each valued at $1500, successful applicants will need to have completed at least one year at a recognised tertiary institution (university, Tafe, college etc) in 2025, and be continuing their studies in 2026.

Judged by a panel of external experts, we also have the pleasure of awarding the Anne Aquilina Award which recognises the work of students studying in the health professions. In 2025, this was awarded to Imaaz Ahmad who is studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science (Medicine) and a Master of Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales.

In 2025, the judges also awarded the inaugural First Nations Scholarship to Grace Valades from Minchinbury is studying a Bachelor of Communication (Social and Political Sciences) / Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology Sydney. 

Applicants must be a resident of Blacktown City and provide a copy of academic transcripts relating to their current studies (including those completed in 2025).

The judge’s decision on successful applicants will be final. Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to apply.

  • Steven Yong from The Ponds, studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the University of Technology Sydney.
  • Raeanne El-Mustapha from Blacktown, studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at the Western Sydney University. 
  • Anastasia Karafotias from Kings Park, studying a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at University of Technology Sydney.
  • Fredritz Brillo from Blacktown, studying Medical Scienceat the University of New South Wales.
  • Arian Taeidi from Rouse Hill, studying a Bachelor of Criminology Bachelor of Cyber Security (Double Degree) at the University of Technology Sydney
  • Eniola Olayiwola from Mount Druitt, studying Dual Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence - Aeroplane) & (Instrument Rating) at TAFE.
  • Krutee Prasad from Mount Druitt, studying a Bachelor of Economics (Major in Finance and Financial Economics) at the University of Sydney. 
  • Nishani Balaruban from Blacktown, studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Diagnostic Radiography) at The University of Sydney. 
  • Ramneek Thind from Mt Druitt, studying Juris Doctorat the University of Sydney. 
  • Cameron McGowan from Prospect, studying a Masters of Information Technology at the University of New South Wales
