Journey through the serene bushlands of Nurragingy  reserve on Sunday 16 August for the Blacktown Mayoral Fun Run. 

Starting at Boronia reserve, the fun run will have you winding your way through the stunning natural landscapes, the Aboriginal heritage garden and the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese gardens.

There will be a 5 km at 7.15 am and a 2.5 km at 8 am with prizes for best dressed and finisher medals for each race participant!  

The 5 km is sold out! 

We understand that child tickets are currently unavailable, but don't worry we've got you covered!

Is the event accessible for people with disability?

Yes. The event is fully accessible with no stairs.

 

Do I need to let you know about my access needs?

No, but if you required assistance on the morning please let Event staff know.

 

Are the courses accessible?

Most sections are flat and sealed. Some areas may have slight slopes or uneven surfaces

 

Can I use a wheelchair?

Yes

 

Can I bring a support person?

Yes. Support people can stay with you on the course

 

Does my support person need to register?

Careers and companions are permitted to run on the course without registering. 

 

Is the start area accessible?

Yes. Wide entry points and clear pathways

 

Are there accessible toilets?

Yes. Located near the start and finish areas.

 

Is there accessible parking?

Yes, please show your accessible pass to traffic officers upon entry

 

Is there a quiet space?

There is no quiet space for this event.

 

Will signage be clear?

Yes. There are clear signs and announcements

 

What if I need help during the run?

Move safely to the side. Speak to a volunteer or staff member

 

Can I bring an assistance animal?

How do I register?

You can prepurchase online here or you can purchase on the day at the ticket booth?

Which distance should I choose?

2.5 km suits beginners, families, and walkers

5 km suits regular walkers and runners

Can I change my distance?

Yes, if places are available. Please contact the Events Team at events.team@blacktown.nsw.gov.au

What time do the fun runs start?

7.15am- 5km and 8am for 2.5km.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes early.

Do I need to start in a group?

Yes, we encourage runners to start at the front, walkers in the middle, and walkers with prams at the back.

Can I walk the course?

Yes. Both distances welcome walkers

What do I receive?

All participants will receive a finishers medal.

When do I collect it?

For all participants who have registered before Monday 3 August bibs will be sent via Australia post to provided postal address. Any registrations made after 3 August will need to collect their bibs on event day. 

Is the course closed to traffic?

Yes, roads are managed for safety

Are there water stations?

There will be one water station on the course. Bring your own water if needed.

Is there medical support?

Yes. First aid officers will be on course and at the finish line.

Can kids join?

Yes. 2.5 km is ideal for children. Adults must supervise younger kids

Can I bring a pram?

Yes, start at the back for safety

Can I run with headphones?

Yes

Can I bring a bag?

There is no bag drop off or locker facilities for this event.

Will I get a time?

Yes, both distances are timed. Your bib tracks your result

When are results available?

Usually within a few hours. Full results online after the event

Can family watch?

Yes. Plenty of space at the start and finish

What if it rains?

The fun runs still go ahead. Dress for the conditions

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are permitted before 24 hours of the race.
