We are proud to host a range of exciting major events throughout the year that draw thousands of patrons from our city and beyond.
Australia Day Concert & Fireworks
A fun, family friendly event featuring free amusement rides, Australiana demonstrations including sheep shearing and whip cracking, food trucks as well as live music performances from a variety of artists, which over the years have included The Screaming Jets, Shannon Noll, Mental as Anything and Marcia Hines. The exciting celebration culminates with Western Sydney’s largest fireworks extravaganza display.
Lunar New Year
A wonderful reflection of the cultural richness of our great City. Featuring food and market stalls, free kids rides, interactive workshops and demonstrations, live cultural stage entertainment including kids shows, traditional Chinese New Year blessing ceremony, lion and dragon dance, roving performers, free kids craft – lantern making, fan decorating, calligraphy, origami plus more, and of course a spectacular fireworks display.
Medieval Fayre
Nurragingy Reserve is transformed back in time to a medieval fairground filled with swords, knights, horses and lances. The dark ages are celebrated over two days with numerous events. Roving entertainment, free camel and pony rides, food and drink, armour displays, handmade arts and crafts,a working blacksmith hut, birds of prey, medieval-themed stalls and the highlight of the event an incredible live action jousting competition with competitors from across Australia. The medieval theme continues into the night with the very authentic Medieval Banquet, offering diners the unique experience of dressing in theme and dining on medieval food and drinks whilst enjoying various dark age activities throughout the evening.
Streets Alive and Parade Day
The Blacktown CBD is transformed into a fun filled festival of food, culture and entertainment. The city streets are closed to traffic on this day bringing colour, movement and vibrancy to the centre through exciting trade stalls, a series of community performance stages and a headline act on the main stage.
