Did you know?

You can save over $140 by minimising your waste.  We offer a reduction in fees for domestic waste services to property owners who choose to use a smaller 140 litre waste bin. You can organise for your bin to be swapped by phoning 9839 6000.

Safety first: Due to the size and shape of the garbage and recycling trucks, drivers have blind spots (areas hidden from view). Please supervise children at all times when trucks are nearby.

Where your waste goes

Your waste is delivered to a waste processing facility called the UR-3R at Eastern Creek.

At the UR-3R facility, waste is separated. Food and garden waste is turned into compost. Items that can be recycled such as metals and some types of plastics are recovered and sent to be remanufactured.

To find out more watch this video of Gardening Australia's Costa Georgiadis visiting the UR-3R facility.

More information on the UR-3R facility can be found at the Global Renewables website.

GreenMoney

You can be rewarded for recycling and so much more!

We have teamed up with GreenMoney to reward people for taking every day green actions such as recycling more, reducing household waste to landfill, growing your own food, composting and volunteering to help preserve and keep bushland, waterways and open spaces litter free and thriving.

GreenMoney is an Australian-first recycling rewards program designed to reward households for helping the environment. GreenMoney allows members to earn rewards for recycling and living sustainably. So the more sustainable actions taken, the more discounts and rewards earned. Best of all, households get to save money the next time they shop with our local participating businesses.
