Nurragingy Reserve

This 63 hectare bushland park is located in Doonside and attracts more than 1 million visitors per year. Main attractions include the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens, the Aboriginal Heritage Garden and the Miniature Railway.

Aboriginal Heritage Garden

An initiative by the Aboriginal Advisory Committee, the garden features a yarning circle, Indigenous artworks and native plantings, collectively creating a space that welcomes everyone.

The Colebee Cafe by Harvey's Social

Under New Managment, The Colebee Cafe by Harvey's Social (entry via Knox Road) is operating 7 days a week from 8 am - 5 pm.

Offering delicious coffee, cold press juices, assorted burgers, freshly made wraps, ice-creams and snacks.

Wedding Gardens

There are 3 separate garden areas for weddings that feature quiet shaded areas and pavilions and natural bushland settings that are ideal for photographic backdrops.

Bungarribee Pavilion

This Wedding Pavilion is set high in the international gardens. It commands sweeping views of the lakes, Chinese Gardens and waterfall, providing great camera shots for your special day. Power and wedding vehicle access is available upon request. 

Guest capacity for this garden is 150 people.

Jannawi Wedding Garden

Located within close proximity to the Colebee Centre, this Wedding Garden has a sweeping view of the main lake in the International Gardens. Only a short walk to the car park and amenities block, this semi-enclosed formal wedding area provides an ideal location for your next special occasion. 

Guest capacity for this garden is 150 people.

Jim Lynch Memorial Wedding Garden

This secluded wedding garden, which is perfect for a smaller wedding features paved walkways and an open pergola/trellis, surrounded by native trees that provide sanctuary from the heat on warmer days. This charming setting is close to the main lake in the International Gardens, car park and amenities. 

Guest capacity for this garden is 50 people.

 

Picnic Shelters

Nurragingy Reserve has a number of picnic options available. Our 5 most popular shelters are listed below.

  • No bookings are required, it is first in first served. 
  • The use of charcoal BBQ's is not permitted within the reserve at any time.

  • No BBQ's will be allowed if there is a total fire ban, this includes the electric BBQ's, gas BBQ's or any type of hot cooking plate.

  • Jumping castles and small amusements are not permitted within the reserve.

  • Approximate seating supplied: 20

  • Play equipment available: *yes - including a Liberty swing for wheelchairs

Kookaburra Shelter

  • Approximate crowd capacity: 150

Miniature Railway

Operates on the third Sunday of every month.

Water play park

  • Water Play is available during Summer, Autumn and Spring. It includes a sheltered area with varying sized water troughs, a hand wheel water pump, a concrete water maze and spurts and sprays coming from all over - just perfect for the kids (and adults) on a warm, sunny day.
