Filming and photography permits
All proposed film/TV production shoots in the Blacktown local government area must be subject to a written application for approval by our events team, except:
-
where filming is of a minor nature eg, news crews - where crew and equipment travel in one vehicle which is no larger than a passenger vehicle
-
where dedicated film location facilities and sites already exist. In this case, filming would proceed according to procedures already agreed.
Please review the NSW Local Government Filming Protocol(PDF, 420KB) if you have any concerns.
All applicants must read, complete and submit the (PDF, 339KB)Blacktown City Filming Application Form.(PDF, 338KB)
Once completed please email the form and all other required documents including insurance cover to the email listed on the application form.
Fees for a filming/photography permit may be applicable and are based on the impact the activity will have on our city. Fees are set out in our Goods and Services Pricing Schedule available here.
We require a minimum of 7 working days notice in writing for 1 day or less filming, and minimum 1 month's notice if filming involves road closures or disruptions and/or use of parks and reserves.
Any filming activity that involves/requires a road closure or disruption, must also submit a Road Occupation Licence Application for Filming Purposes Form.(PDF, 259KB)
