If you had the chance to tell us what’s important in your area, what would you say?
We want to hear what residents and ratepayers think, feel and want. We are hosting community forums every month so you get a chance to have your say.
These mobile forums stop in different Wards across the City. In 2017 we have visited each Ward at least once, and now on the second cycle of Ward visits.
All forums run from 7 pm to 9 pm and provide residents and ratepayers an opportunity to raise their neighbourhood issues with us. Mayor Stephen Bali, Ward Councillors and our staff bring important information to each forum. See our event listing for upcoming forums.
We have welcomed between 60 and 300 people at each forum. These events are proving to be a good opportunity for community engagement and an opportunity for residents and ratepayers to engage with Councillors and our staff face-to-face.
The issues that have been discussed at the forums so far included the proposal to build the Energy from Waste Incinerator in Eastern Creek and the Federal Government plans for a second Sydney airport in Badgerys Creek.
Other topics discussed at the forums included the proposed suburb names in the North West Growth Centre, road upgrades, the provision of new facilities at parks and reserves, road upgrades and community safety programs. The forums continue to create an awareness of our issues and have created stronger engagement with the diverse community groups in the City.
Facilitated by the Mayor Stephen Bali, the forums have garnered wide interest in the community and gained attention in the media.
