Barnier Drive road pavement reconstruction, Quakers Hill The road pavement reconstruction of Barnier Drive, between Calandra Avenue and Rutledge Crescent in Quakers Hill, began on 14 October 2024 and was completed on 24 October 2024. Now, the Quakers Hill community enjoys a smoother, safer road with improved infrastructure for reliable, easier daily travel.
Construction of Tallawong Road, Rouse Hill Blacktown City Council has upgraded Tallawong Road between Lucy Street and Allowrie Street in Rouse Hill, transforming it into an 11‑metre wide collector road complete with new drainage, asphalt pavement, LED street lighting and a roundabout for improved traffic flow and safety.
F6.1 bioretention basin monitoring, Schofields A joint project by the NSW Government and Blacktown City Council has improved stormwater quality at Edgar Barlow Park, The Ponds. Over five years, scientific monitoring assess six stormwater filters and two pollutant traps, reducing plastic and rubbish in First Ponds Creek and the Hawkesbury-Nepean River. The findings will help guide future stormwater management strategies across western Sydney.
Median extension completed – Riverstone Road, Riverstone Blacktown City Council has successfully completed the median extension project on Riverstone Road, Riverstone, improving road safety, traffic flow and overall efficiency. Reserve 907 Grantham Street – playground and landscaping Blacktown City Council upgraded Reserve 907 in Grantham Farm, Riverstone with new playground equipment, landscaping and seating. The $500,000 project, funded by the State Government, began in December 2024 and was completed on 18 February 2025.
Completion of path paving works – Colebee Blacktown City Council has completed path paving works in Colebee as part of the Development Contribution Works – Path Paving 2024 to 2025 program, improving safety, accessibility and infrastructure durability. Greenspace Services - general update May 2025 Blacktown City Council continued park, sportsfield and playground maintenance despite heavy rainfall in May. Key works included tree inspections, turf servicing, and playground repairs. Over 1,300 plants were distributed, Bushcare volunteers contributed 159 hours, and ecological and stormwater restoration projects progressed across multiple sites.
