Warrick Lane Blacktown sewer underline crossing Blacktown City Council has completed a new sewer main linking Warrick Lane with George Street, supporting growth in Blacktown’s city centre. Completed in April 2025, the project involved underboring beneath the rail line, installing manholes and restoring the site. The upgrade improves infrastructure capacity for around 8,500 future residents.
Greenspace Services - general update October 2025 Blacktown City Council recorded only 8.2mm of rainfall in October, leaving sports fields and parks dry and limiting turf growth. Irrigation systems are operating at capacity, with ongoing maintenance to keep sports turf healthy. Major works this month included weed and pest treatments, aeration and turfing, as well as repairs to playground equipment.

Sibelius Close, Gardenia Grove, Mili Place & Montrose Street Blacktown City Council has completed road resurfacing to improve safety, durability and drainage. The works provide a smoother, more stable surface for road users. This upgrade extends road lifespan and reduces maintenance costs.

Blacktown International Peace Park – netball facility upgrade Blacktown City Council has completed a $1.25 million upgrade at Blacktown International Peace Park, home to 24 netball courts and a clubhouse. The project will deliver safer, more durable and higher-quality playing surfaces that meet Netball Australia standards.
Building Construction and Maintenance update – April to August 2025 From April to August 2025, Council completed major building and maintenance upgrades across the City, including new bubblers, safety improvements, roof and facility upgrades, and a new balustrade at Max Webber Library. Planning continues at Paterson Reserve, and new flag poles are being installed at Rooty Hill Depot. A total of 7,760 work orders were completed.
Tallagandra Drive, Quakers Hill – road reseal works Blacktown City Council has completed pavement works on Tallagandra Drive in Quakers Hill, with line marking to be completed shortly. The $300,000 project included mill and fill resurfacing, heavy patching and kerb and gutter repairs to improve safety, driving comfort and pavement durability.
Cooinda Street, Seven Hills – path paving construction Blacktown City Council has completed new path paving along the western side of Cooinda Street, Seven Hills, between house number 28 and Linda Street. Currawong Street, Glenwood – raised wombat crossing installation Blacktown City Council has completed a new raised wombat crossing on Currawong Street in Glenwood, near Glenwood Park Drive, to improve pedestrian safety and calm traffic. The project was completed in January 2026 and included road surface adjustments and line marking. The upgrade supports safer access to nearby parks and local facilities.
Quakers Hill – road reseal works Blacktown City Council has completed a series of road reseal works across Quakers Hill to improve safety, surface quality and pavement life. The program was delivered by Council’s Civil Asset Maintenance with contractor Bernipave. Works included milling, resurfacing, patching, kerb and gutter repairs and line marking on several local streets.
Solander Road, Kings Langley – road reseal works Blacktown City Council has completed road resurfacing works on Solander Road, Kings Langley, between Joseph Banks Drive and Pallister Street. Works were carried out from 16 February to 24 March 2026 and included asphalt resurfacing, patching, kerb and gutter repairs and tree pruning. The upgrade has delivered a smoother, safer road surface and extended the life of the pavement.
30 Northcott Rd, Lalor Park – Ashley Brown Reserve North upgrade Blacktown City Council has completed the Ashley Brown Reserve North upgrade at 30 Northcott Road, Lalor Park. The $2 million project improved access, amenities and recreational facilities for the local community. The works included new courts, playspace upgrades, pathways and landscaping.
Freeman Street, Lalor Park – wombat crossing installation Blacktown City Council has completed a raised wombat crossing on Freeman Street, Lalor Park. Works were completed in March 2026 as part of the 2025–2026 Works Improvement Program. The project improves pedestrian safety and traffic calming in the area.

Greenspace Services - general update April 2024 In April 2024, Greenspace Services recorded 260mm of rainfall, leading to temporary closures and maintenance delays for sporting fields. Staff completed winter sports preparations, audited irrigation systems and applied turf fertiliser.

Max Webber Library, Blacktown - refurbishment and upgrade works Blacktown City Council has completed major upgrades at Max Webber Library, enhancing children’s areas, technology studios and signage. The works improve accessibility, learning spaces and community facilities, with a total investment of over $736,000.
Bathroom Renovations at six Kids Early Learning Centres Blacktown City Council has successfully accomplished bathroom renovations across six Kids Early Learning centres, a project implemented during the Christmas period. With a total funding allocation of $510,000, the renovations covered 13 bathrooms spread across these centres.
Smart Bins Blacktown City Council has installed 18 solar-powered smart bins that can hold up to six times more rubbish than standard bins. Smart containers also alert staff when they are full, thereby increasing the efficiency of waste management.
Beryl Simes Smith Park, Blacktown The $2 million upgrade of Beryl Simes Smith Park was completed and opened to the public in early 2022, featuring a volleyball court, outdoor gym, picnic areas and landscaping. After identifying defects in the volleyball court surface, repairs were delayed due to weather but have now been fully completed. The park is once again open, providing a safe and enjoyable space for the community.
Blacktown Aquatic Centre - Install heat pump Blacktown City Council has completed a $580,000 project to install a new heat pump at Blacktown Aquatic Centre. The upgrade reduces natural gas use, lowers emissions and improves the efficiency of pool water heating, supporting Council’s goal of achieving zero emissions by 2030.
Borrowdale Park – bank stabilisation works Blacktown City Council has completed $64,000 bank stabilisation works at Borrowdale Park in Kings Langley. The project included new retaining walls, pathway and stair upgrades, vegetation removal and landscaping to improve safety, accessibility and the overall appearance of the park.
Foreman Avenue to Eagle Way, Glenwood – cycleway construction Blacktown City Council has completed a $500,000 cycleway linking Foreman Avenue and Eagle Way in Glenwood. The project improves safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists, provides a key missing link in the active transport network and enhances access to local amenities and public transport.
Lucas Road laneway – pathway construction, Seven Hills Blacktown City Council has completed an $80,000 upgrade to the laneway between Lucas Road and Haynes Avenue in Seven Hills. Works included a new reinforced concrete pathway, kerb installation and bike barriers to improve safety, accessibility and pedestrian connectivity.
Medlow Drive road pavement reconstruction, Quakers Hill We have successfully completed the road pavement reconstruction of Medlow Drive, Quakers Hill. The works included lowering services and installing new asphalt layers to improve road safety, traffic flow, and durability.
Morgan Power Reserve Car Park 308, Kings Langley completed Blacktown City Council has successfully finished the Morgan Power Reserve Car Park 308, Kings Langley project. Upgrades, like a new asphalt overlay aim to create a safer, more accessible environment for everyone in our community.
Morgan Power Reserve pathway construction Blacktown City Council has completed a new pathway at Morgan Power Reserve, improving access, safety and drainage. Funded by a $30,000 NSW Club Grant, the works were finished in May 2024. The reserve is now safer and more accessible for the community.
Pedestrian refuge completed – The Ponds Boulevard, The Ponds Blacktown City Council has completed a pedestrian refuge at The Ponds Boulevard and Lilypad Avenue to improve safety and access. The works included a refuge island and marked crossing, supporting safer walking and active transport in the area. This project is part of the 2024–2025 Works Improvement Program.
Public pathway 8506 reconstruction project, Kings Langley Blacktown City Council has completed the upgrade of Public Pathway 8506 under the 2024/2025 Works Improvement Program. Reserve 945 - Rouse Rd, Rouse Hill, sportsfield embellishment Blacktown City Council has commenced the sportsfield embellishment and drainage bioretention project at Reserve 945, Rouse Hill, to deliver new community sporting facilities and improved stormwater management. The 7-hectare site, jointly funded by the NSW Government and Council, will include two new playing fields, an amenities building, bioretention basins, pathways and landscaping.
Turner Creek corridor shared user path – Lalor Park Blacktown City Council is delivering a shared user path through the Turner Creek corridor, Lalor Park. Works commenced on 30 June 2025 and are nearing completion, with final works underway. The project will improve safety, support active travel and enhance local connectivity.
