In 1992, the General Assembly proclaimed 3 December as the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

Observance of the Day provides opportunities for participation by all stakeholders, Governments, the UN system, civil society and services of people with disabilities to focus on issues related to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in development.

Each year, we celebrate International Day of People with Disability on or around 3 December.

2025 Blacktown City Access and Inclusion Forum

This year Blacktown City Council will host the Access and Inclusion Forum. The aim is to help play an active role in shaping the 2026 – 2030 Blacktown City Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan, to make our community more accessible and inclusive, discussing the challenges faced and informing the community what we would like to know about people with disability.

Before the Forum begins, we will announce and celebrate the nominees of the 2025 Blacktown City International Day of People with Disability Awards.

Registrations to attend the Forum will open shortly.
