Our Multicultural Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations that align to internal strategies and plans. The recommendations of advisory committees can help Blacktown City in making decisions on complex matters.

The committee consists of experts, professionals or community representatives.

The committee exists to advise Council on:

  1. positive representation of multicultural people
  2. the best ways to consult and engage with local communities
  3. contact and collaboration between local interest groups, communities, agencies and organisations
  4. raising the profile of the community’s concerns within the Blacktown City
  5. policy development, planning of services, facilities, programs and projects.

Key considerations for the 2024-2028 term

  1. Review of 2024 – 2028 Multicultural Action Plan
  2. Development of 2024 – 2028 Multicultural Strategy
  3. Input to a broad social inclusion strategy
  4. Review of Council’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
